About this watch
Taking something as worn & imprecise as a coin and turning it into a precise watch component is surprisingly difficult. Succeeding in this challenge is what gives our pieces their unique character & a level of craftsmanship rarely seen in modern Australian watchmaking.
Each watch is proudly built to order in our Melbourne workshop, showcasing the iconic Australian Kangaroo Penny or Florin. The coin dial serves as a subtle reminder of the country and land we live and work on.
It took 3 years of development to finally produce the finished design. It was a conscious decision to spend as much time as needed to craft a timepiece we were proud of down to the smallest detail — no compromise. Finished and constructed to mechanical standards. powered by quartz for those who value simplicity and everyday ease.
Case details
A 38mm case (excluding the crown) is a neutral dimension suited to most wrists & the gentle contrast between the straight and circular brushed case finishes, along with the polished bezel, adds depth & detail. Minimal, finely finished black or gold hands complement the coin dial, housed beneath a single domed sapphire crystal with a subtle bevelled edge.
